    Very nice habitat setting for this goldfinch. The BG is a bit noisy and I find the bright spot left of the wing a bit distracting.

    Nice composition, Larry. I think the image could use a little more sharpening and some NR on the BG.

    Very pretty composition Larry and a nice pose. I agree with Axel about the white spot and the suggestion for a bit of NR. Thanks for sharing.

    Suggestions already mentioned. I like the fact it is photographed on its preferred giver of nesting material. Just for the record, this is an American GOLDfinch (a little more valuable!!).

    Pretty little finch Larry - not one we get here down-under! The thistles work well in the composition but I find the white area behind the bird very distracting. When photographing a bird with black head and eye I use a fill flash to give a catchlight, otherwise you generally end up with an apparent empty eye socket.
