Mother brown bear nursing her spring born cubs. I realize she is not looking directly at me but at the same time I felt that her looking off in the distance gives a sense that she was comfortable with my presence. Hallo Bay, AK.

A very nice behavioral image, Mike. The exposure, comp, and background look good. In an ideal world, I would wish that we could see the cub's heads better. IMO, I think that with the bear NOT looking directly at you, you have a image that is much more interesting than it would be if the bear was looking down the lens barrel.

I wholeheartedly agree with Steve. The look past is a special look combined with the feeding cubs. I hope you were in an armor plated bazooka proof tank when you took this one. Momma can run real fast. This is a special image. Frame it and hang it.

Great behavior image. I agree that the mom looking away is better than looking right at you as it ould ruin the intamacy of the event. Hallo Bay is a fantastic location.

Great colors, pose, and detail. Another vote for the indirect look. Better to be part of the animal's surrounding than the focus of their attention.

Been watching bears on National Geographic, and I think this is an amazing image. Lovely low angle, and showing great detail. Well captured Mike.

You are, indeed, a brave man and this is one beautiful image. You caught such a special moment and the look on her face is divine! My only nit is that the top of her head runs right against the horizon but, considering the circumstances...gotta let that slide.

I'd pick out a wall for the hanging.

Good looking image Mike for all the reasons mentioned.

Love the low angle and the interaction. Great eye contact as well.

Lovely image Mike. I love the looks. You did well by shooting from a long angle. A bit high and you would have got that bg cut the head.
