    I'm not sure what the growth is on the birds left foot, it didn't slow it down as much as I observed.

    Sweet pose and lovely background. Nice soft light and sharp detail. The perch is large but has a lot of texture and interest. Lovely image.

    I believe the bird has Avian Pox. Avian Pox is viral disease spread among infected birds either via mosquitoes or direct contact between infected individuals. Infected birds show characteristic wart-like nodules on non-feathered parts (legs, feet, bill, eye margin). These nodules can be fatal to individual birds if they interfere with feeding, breathing, or vision. However, birds with extensive infections may recover completely after which the nodules drop off, leaving scabs or scars on the previously infected area. Secondary infections (bacteria, fungi) may occur at these scars.

    thank you for the info Linda, there has been hundreds of juncos visiting me and this was the only one so far with this blight.
