I was pretty happy with the pose this guy gave me while preening. Taken in Morro Bay CA, one of my favorite places to shoot.

Lovely pose. Liked the curving neck & the beak inbetween. Nice details around the eyes & head. Wish for little more DOF to have the feathers in the front sharp. The beak looks a bit much on the brighter side.

I like the pose and curved neck a lot, but I would love to see a bit more room below the bill tip. Nice work.

    Hello Aidan,

Nice portrait. Your sun angle and sharpness are just great. Well done.

I would like to see a little more room at the bottom, below the bill tip. Also the bill could use some darkening. I cover this technique with a pelican bill in my aptats CD. Also there is some blue/purple noise in the sly near the top of the image.

Cute preening pose and I especially like the curve of the neck. The eyes and head are sharp with good detail, but more dof would have been helpful so that the the back and wing feathers and the bill tip at the bottom would be sharper. II agree with the suggestions that a little more room below the bill tip would have been nice.

I like a lot the composition of this portrait but wish for a little more DOF at the bottom of the frame. Neat eye. I suggest to tone down a little bit the BG. Great job!
