Nonda, It's adorable! You could easily clone out the BG and then blend it. Leaving just the bottom piece. I think it would make this "little" guy stand out even more. It's nice and sharp and I like the colors. And his pose is nice as well.

Isn't she a hoot. Alfred we don't feed them THAT much;)

Denise, I might dig out the raw file at some point and work on the BG.

Very nice composition and details on the squirrel. I think you have a great portrait once you work on the background. A keeper.

    Cheryl,
The lens used here is probably one on my favorites the Canon 400f5.6L, light weigh, fast AF and really good optics. Then again I'm really happy with all my lenses now, it took a while and I bought and sold quite a few in the process.:)

    Glad you enjoy the image

I agree with the comments that with a bit of work on the background this would be great. Love the squirrel. The details and exposure are very good.

Regardless of the background, the look of that squirrel itself makes up for anything that is considered not perfect. It puts a smile on my face.

    High Nonda,

I'm thinkin a squirrel this corpulent is a regular at your place!!! He/She must have a name....????

Glad to hear you've got the lenses you wanted most. I tihnk my favorite lens right now is the 100-400MM f4.5-5.6, IS. It's versitility and light weight makes it a great field lens, and despite the fact that it's a zoom, it makes wonderfully sharp images if I do my job;) . Love the image, by the way!!!

    Cheers,

    Bruce

The 400f5.6 was bought in 06,my dream lens was the 300f2.8L bough in 07..Life is grand isn't it:D
