I was recently in Queensland visiting my parents so I visited one of my favourite places up there, Mary Cairncross Reserve. It's a sub tropical rainforest. I was walking along the track when I heard these birds calling. I usually see them scratching in amongst leaves and vines. One of them hopped up onto a log in front of me and I was lucky to get a few photos before it flew away. This is full frame and I cloned a couple of small white blotches in the background.

Given where they live and the conditions you were in this is a great shot Nicole. Perhaps the neck plumage could be darkened little.

Cool species and a very well done image. I like it. Looks flash used. Am I right? Cool job.

The only thing I don't like is the shadow caused by the flash. Otherwise an awesome photograph, very dynamic with that singing pose!

Fantastic little birds these, probably my favorite of a trip nth New South Wales I made recently. You've done much better then I managed to! Good compo. and you've done well not to completely burn the highlights with the flash. Neck could maybe be masked and darkened a bit though and you might be able to reduce the flash shadow with some dodging in PS.....

Lovely crisp shot Nicole, and a great job to catch him singing - the white throat is perhaps a little hot.

This is great Nicole. Wonderful pose captured! I wish the leaves were not on the left side of the frame in the BG.
