Very nice pose and what a cool species! It seems to me that the light ring on the neck is a bit hot so I would suggest a selective adjustment on this area to recover the whites.

Excellent Simon Can also add that I would like the bird moved down the frame a bit to have more room up top !! Beautiful bird and setting !!! btw excellent exp but not sure why would you use partial metering?

Fantastic image! I agree that the comp would work better with the bird lower in the frame.

As you've already stated, you would have cropped differently. This is a splendid species, one I've not seen before. The exposure is nearyl spot on; BG is complimentary and the perch in it's diagonal orientation lends to the vertical crop, as does the long lines of the bird, particularly the tail. I would agree that a small amount of selective Post Processing would benefit the ring in the neck. That being said, this is an over-all good image. Well done. ;-)

I'm personally fine with the top to bottom ratio, but I would place the subject further to the right. Beautiful species - I love the hint of lime-green on the rump.

Beautifully composed with a wonderful pose. Love the color and detail in this image and the very clean and lovely BG. Many thanks for sharing Simon.

I like the bird near the top of the frame as-is, but I agree it could go to the right a bit more. What a great bird and beautifully captured!

Thank you all for your comments. Here is a repost with a different crop. I also multiplied the highlights to get more detail and intensity in the plumage.

Very nice image Simon. I prefer your repost with the tighter RHS crop. Cheers :)
