    Default Rim of light

    This is a little egret in Egypt.
    I saw him in the last light of the day and I like the feeling of that picture.
    What can I do, to improve pictures like that?

    Mark III / Canon 100-400 + 1.7 TC
    f 6.3 / 1/250 sec. / ISO 500
    Exposure -1

    I like the feel of this image as well. Then again I'm a real sucker for rim light and this is such nice rim light. Maybe just a a bit more overall light, maybe. Do like it quite a bit as is.

    I also like the mood and feeling in the photo as is
    The growing light in the BG seems to almost spotlight the heron

    You could lighten the log and bird with a mask layer and consider a tighter crop to emphasis the heron - but i think it is less effective and destroys the mood/feeling of the photo as shown below

    Very nice effort under difficult lighting - - leave it as is and enjoy the moment
