    Default Ruby Crowned Kinglet

My first picture of this guy, I have photographed the yellow crowned before this one has been tough.I have seen them a couple of times. I was photographing yellow rumped warblers in my yard when this fellow landed right near me, great views but I was too close with the lens I was using, so I tried backing up but it flew. I put myself in a better position for him and waited. Luckily he came back.

    I used the 500mm with the 1.4x on a monopod, 1/250s f/9.0 at 700.0mm iso400

    1/250s f/9.0 at 700.0mm iso400 exp comp +1/3

I find the BG a bit sitracting and the bird a bit washed out, maybe darkening it a bit would help, still, the pose nad light as shaprness and eye contact are great! Congratulaitons!

I think you could tone down the highlights a bit as well, but I sure like this a lot. You don't see many good portraits of this species.
