Since my outing with James last month I have visted North Island Trail near Crystal Springs trying to put into practice some of the tips he helped me with. I have 3 pictures I would like to submit for C&C. I appreciate your words of wisdom. Thanks.

as for your picture here, would like to see the inclusion of the feet. would also like to feel a little more connection with the bird by having him looking at you or having his head on the same plane as the camera sensor.

A super big welcome to the BPN family. I like the capture...you were given very good advice by Doctor Davis...:) I took the liberty in making a few minor adjustment to your composition in order to illustrate how you can make it much stronger...see if you like this...:cool:
Good advice !! You can make an image like this one work with a couple of changes. First do get the feet in ... important then make the bird work with the bg Here if you take a step left most of the clutter would have been gone You did make a sharp image and very well exposed Remember to include the camera info !!! Looking forward to more !!!
First, yes Harold I was on the boat and had a great day on the water with you and your wife. I really enjoyed the day. Thanks for all the fine comments and the cropped version is great. I am looking forward to learning a lot from the BPN.
