    During the ICF Pro-Tour earlier this year I was looking for a location to get an environmental photograph like this...but I couldn't get it. After the award ceremony I went back to the ranch to give it another try and this time I was more lucky.

    Nikon D3
    Nikon AF-S 300/2.8VR + TC14II
    1/200 @ f/5.6
    ISO1600 (what a treat to be able to use high ISO's like this), RAW
    Handheld, leaning on a fence

    Beautiful image, Jasper. I especially like that his entire rack is in the green BG and not lost in the woods behind him.

    Getting the whole deer in front of the green BG makes this work really well. I think the framing with the trees in sharp focus with the deer provides a nice contrast with the deer and helps set it out from the BG.
