    Gene, you have great sharp details in the feathers, I like the color of the water and that you can still see the stones. Although the eye contact is not to the viewer, it is beautifully exposed and sharp. I like your image, very much.

    the backlight didnt really hurt you here!! love the sharpness and clarity of the water is really nice! i would suggest a slight crop off the bottom. nice job, gene!

    Hi Gene,

    I like the look up. Gives a bit of behavior. I have one similar to this but mine the bird is in the mud. I much prefer your presentation with the bird standing in the water. Nice details in the feathers and eye. I agree with Harold on the cropping suggestion. If it were mine I would try and desaturate the colors in the water a bit. That might make the bird stand out even more. Very nice.. congratulations. Thanks for sharing.

    I like your composition. The colors of the water look really good. I like the expression on your bird. You have him looking up thats ok, it works here...I like the details...good show...:cool:

    .... the looking up is to watch out for raptors tying to eat them !!! Neat catching them in the act !!! Would only like seeing a different crop proportion with less up top and more to the left !!! I know the bird is looking up but for some reason don't want all that much room up there !!! Excellent
