    This is one of my finest latest bird photos I took, good for a first post over here I guess. It was only for 2 weeks in my neighbourhood and I visited this one with low light levels. I used fill flash to brighten details up.

    Welcome Andrew. Where are you from? Where was the image made? What lens?

    This one is very lovely. I could stand to be a bit brighter still. And I would wish that the bird's head were turned a bit more towards us.

    Hello Arthur,

    Thanks for the critiques. I know what you mean, but this was a one time shot with the catch unfortunately.
    The lens is the Nikkor 200-400 VR 4.0
    I am from The Netherlands.

    this works really well - backgfround/foreground - muted colours with focal point of red eye and gape, catch sharp, droplets - all good. I would be tempted to slightly reduce the size of the catchlight in the eye - otherwise nothing to add to a great image

    HI Andrew,

    I like the low angle and composition. I think the image could be a little lighter.
