This surely isn't the best shot I am planning on getting of this species. Still I tried making the most out of a cloudy day. While photographing this bird I had 5 minutes of sunshine on the bird. Most of the sky was still cloudy so the water in the BG is still kinda greyish. Still it is the nicest I have of this species.

Very well done with the light available. Great angle and details, too. Good luck getting your dream shot of this species. Around here they are very skittish.
Nicely done. Sharp, with perfect body and head angles. When working along a gentle surf, try to be aware of the breaking wavelets as they will often (as here) have some degree of negative impact on your images. I find the wave intersecting the tail more objectionable than the lower one.

Sometimes we have to make compromise when want something to have on the memory card. I guess you did the best you could. I like this image. Next time you will have much better chance with the sun :)
