Saddleback

This picture was taken in walk-thro' aviary @ Orana Park.
Bird is an endangered North Island Saddleback called " Bob".
Bob has recently got female company with Saddleback "Koru" but he prefers chasing another much larger wattle bird a New Zealand Tui !!!
Details: Slight straightening but no crop.
1/125 @ F5.6 @ 180mm Macro.
400 ISO.

That is one tough place to photograph Ian !!!! Maybe some fill flash would have helped, not sure you could have opened up any more !!! Ideally you wan to line up for avoiding merging branches with head/beak etc Amazing you got that close !!!

Oh....so you're on a first name basis with "Bob".....too funny. Given where you photograph, I think this one has come out pretty well. Getting just the right setting is going to be very difficult so you have to make the most of what you have to work with. I agree with Alfred on the use of some flash. Well done.
