Here is another Scarlet Ibis from the Sylvan Waterfowl Park in North Carolina. The image was made on Friday October 10th on an over cast morning at 9:37AM. The Sylvan Waterfowl Park is a good place to practice. Most of the enclosures are big nets allowing one to walk in side and get close to the bids. The challenge is getting a good background and low angles. There something about these ibis that draws my attention. In time I hope to post images of other species. In the mean time thanks for looking and of course any critiques.
Regards,
Phil
This image was processed in ACR and represent about ¾ of full frame. Little was done to the bird other than curves and adding a touch of black in selective colors. I selectively blurred the background a bit to help obscure the netting.

Hi Phil,
I like the capture and exposure. You have very pleasing colors. I like the dark soft background which makes your subject stand out. You display good sharp details and good color rendition, your reds are in check...The arch perch would present better if the branch were not coming out of the lower right intersecting corner of the frame, you might want to add just a slight tad of canvas to correct this; also the bird could use about 2 degrees of CW rotation on the head angle...besides this, Its a very good capture...congrats...
Thanks much for the comments and suggestions. I'll try and pay more attention to the head angle. I got the looking away down; now I need to pay a little more attention to head angle that is too much forward.
Much Thanks!!
Phil
