    This image of the ring-billed gull yawning was captured last March at Oregon Inlet, North Carolina. I was on the beach area looking up at the bird on a post just in the water.

    Canon 5D, 100-400mm at 400mm, ISO 200, 1/2000, f/5.6

    Great shot, Lori.

    I wonder if you can pull more details out of the whites on the breast and face. The whites don't look burnt, so the data may be there.

    Hi Lori,

    Nice moment you got. I'll be moving this to Hand of Man because of the perch.

    I would go back in the reds a bit in Hue/Sat.
    Incredible detail inside the mouth :eek:

    This is a wonderful pose. I like the composition as well. I thought the same as Lance when I first looked at the image. The 5D can give some great detail on a bird so I'd certainly see if you bring any more out. Very nice gull image.

    Hi Lori,

    The gaping mouth and nice light make the photo. Nice job on the exposure. The reds do look a bit oversaturated.
