Another photograph from my recent week spend in the Smokys. The whitetails were all exhibiting prerut behavior. I only wish I could make it back out in November for the action - but alas, thats the peak migration here.

A nice bonus to get 2 bucks in one frame. Some warm spots on the right bucks rack, but not too bad. Perhaps more of a head turn for the right one as well but we take what we get don't we. I think what makes this one nice is the tall brown grass as a hide or camouflaged feel, good habitat scene. Nice behaviors captured too.

    Hi Jared,
Yeah.....this one isn't working for me as much as the previous post. Yes the HAP does even make it here occasionally.......but only in a good way. You also have a chin merge between the 2.....so for me.........just too much going on.

I circled the area where one bucks lower jaw merges with the snout of the other.

    Jared,

I would have preferred this with one deer in it as the grasses and flowers are so attractive. The two deers make it too busy without a strong interaction.
