Wonderful eye contact and excellent detail and a good BG. I would have liked to see a little more canvas on top as it appears a bit tight. Congratulations on a lovely portrait Aidan and many thanks for sharing.
I really like that eye and the reflection contained in it.
Overall, I'm seeing a greenish cast and what look like some brush strokes in the background. Its possible that is posterization though. Did you blur the BG in post?
Here's my take on removing a little bit of the green cast:
Good portrait image. It does, I agree, need to be opened up a bit. Might add that a bit more DOF would have brought the bill into a little better focus and resolution. But, that being said, the all important eye is in good resolution and the head detail is good. Well done.

Thanks, Jim. I didn't blur the BG in this post, although I did clone out something floating in the water (the green BG is water). I don't see the green cast you mentioned :confused:
