In the UK we do not often see shorebirds that nest in the Arctic areas in their glorious breeding colours. This bird was one of a group, on passage to the far north, which I found on the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. In this situation I had no trouble with BGs so I could adopt a much lower viewpoint.

    HI Melvin,

What a lovely image you have here. The first thing I noticed was the horizon. Besides that, I love the setting and habitat.

Very lovely image and I particularly like the low angle and walking pose. Well composed with excellent exposure and detail as well as great eye contact. A slight more of a head turn towards the camera would have been nice. Many thanks for sharing Melvin.

I like the low perspective, plumage detail and the three little shells.

Very nice. It only needs just the slightest bit of CCW rotation.

Lovely image! The two shells and the stone give the feeling of a Japanese garden - the sanderling and the background look great. A real delight!

Love it. Great light and detail and the shells add wonderful depth and compositional balance. Agree about a slight ccw rotation.

    Cheers.
