    I am trying to learn white balance. I blew out several tries before I finally landed this one that I think captures sun on the web. I'm wondering if the web enough to balance the plant? Did some photoshoping to remove a couple of blurred leaves and lighten a couple of places. I also cropped in to remove a lot of plant for balance.
    Nikon D40x, white balance Sunny +3, F4.8 1/400, 165 mm lens, IS 200

    Hi Hazel,
    I like your composition, and what you were trying to accomplish. I modified your image to illustrate form, function and simplicity in a symmetrical and balanced frame. see if if you like it this way...:cool:

    Yes, I see that it puts more focus on the web and webbed flower. Thanks for the input.

    Great going Gus !!!


    Hazel you might leave the color balance in auto then move the temp slider when you convert from RAW. You can actually cycle through the different pre sets.
    I like the feel of the image, did very well with the compensation for the effect When you set it up just try for a clean bg !! Excellent !!
