The action looks terrific......looks like they were having an intereresting conversation. ISO 4000....oh wow......what a clean image. I think you should write an article about your switch to Nikon. You've made a wonderful transition and I'm really interested in just how hard it was to make....and if you're satisfied with the switch.

Great interaction and pretty good for ISO 4000. I have to try what images will look like using the 1D3 at really high ISO settings.

    One pass of Noise Ninja.

    Thanks!
This image would have never been made a few months ago because of the light. That D3 is totally incredible.

    Wish I were there :(

Love the image, amazing at 4000 ISO.

How did you end up at -1 comp, I understand the flash -1 but the main comp -1?

Very nice image Fabs. It has a n overall soft look. Did you do noise reduction to the whole image? If so maybe selective NR on just the BG would be an idea?

For ISO 4000 this is incredible.

Amazing for ISO 4000, and I love the interaction you captured here. It was wonderful seeing you and Al this week!

I like it, and yes the high ISO performance of the latest cameras is amazing. The heads and necks of the two birds look a bit light from here. Selecting and multiplying them might improve the image.

You really seem to enjoy that new camera, don't you? Another excellent behavioral photograph! As Artie suggested, the head and necks look a bit too bright....and I'd like to add that I'd like to see a bit more space at the bottom. But that's a minor nit. Have fun with those beautiful birds...I'm looking forward to see more.

Great behavioral shot, Fabs! I really like the interaction of the two Herons. It is amazingly clean for ISO 4000. It must have been nearly dark when you made this image. It does have a soft look to it. Perhaps that is from the high ISO and noise reduction.

Nice shot Fabs. I like the action/inter action you have captured. Love the "messed up hair" *-). You were at the rookery. Darn.... I have been there a couple times this week. Would have been nice to finally put a face with the work. Next time you're in town...drop me a PM.
