    Default Spitfire...

    Hi Folks,
As this seems to be National Post-a-Hawk Day I thought that I would join in...:D:D
This is Spitfire the Peregrine falcon who lives at the Mid Wales Falconry Centre. He posed very nicely for us and then the handler brought out his 'treat' - a dead chick as I recall ()...this was Spitfire's reaction, so the image is full frame - no time to react!!!

The BG is Welsh stone - quite pretty, but would have wished for the bird to have been placed further forward so that it would have appeared as more of a wash of colour.
    Look forward to your c & c's!
    Best regards to all,
    Nicki

    Hi Nonda,
Actually I did think of adding canvas to the top, then decided that it would unbalance the composition as it was so tight anyway!!

Ms Nicki, excellent exposure and details. Do agree with a little more room at top.
    Congrats,

Tack sharp, love the expression, great colours. I think a bit more at the top might have been better.

    Hi Nicki,

Good exposure, lots of detail, and sharp. The background doesn't bother me. One more vote for more room at the top.

    Thanks for sharing!

Sharp and Sweet Nicki !! Difficult crop choice Might go tighter for showing that impressive face Could add some canvas up top !! Sure wish you had another chance at the bird !!!!

Hi Nicki - beautiful bird - exposure looks good - nicely detailed throughout.

Either more room at the top - or tighter crop IMHO :) :)

Hi Nicki! I'd go tighter; this crop is too snug up top and doesn't feel balanced to me.

    Hi Folks,
Thanks for your kind words and comments. I'll definitely revisit this one when I have some time and play around with the crop!

    Lady Nicki,
No lashes for you my dear, since you deliberately cut the legs off. I like the composition done in split seconds. You have razor sharp details and very good color rendition. You do need more room on the top, like Mr. Forns suggested...congrats on a job well done...
