    What a mission to try get any detail AND fit the whole tail in!! This is a small bird.:o
    I underexposed by 1/2 stop - my whites got blown when I upped the exp.:(:confused:
    Focal length: 300mm
    f/5.6
    Exp. time: 1/1000sec
    Centre weighted mode
    exp comp: - 0.5step

    AND.............. best of all....... tra la la la la .........NO HAP needed!!!!:D:D:D

    What an accomplishment to get this image! beautiful, lively pose! stands out well against the bg. the smallness of this bird is brought out by that large perch. And yes, wonderful eye contact, and curiosity on the bird's part!

    Is your focus point on the shoulder rather than the eye?

    Nice shot Jeni, I would just lighten up the darks in the feathers a bit. Beautiful bird. Nice capture!

    Great image and great bird. Terrific composition, wonderful to have the whole bird on the same plane so it is all in focus.

    Super job with the pose and framing the bird, with that TAIL! Does look like the focus point is on the shoulder maybe and agree on selectively sharpening the eye.

    that's a beauty, jeni!! would have liked to see you point the camera a little more left to reduce canvas to the right and add some to the left. the bird is looking left and needs room to look into. fantastic job with the exposure on a difficult bird.
