    Default Patch Tool

I have tried a search here, on the net and scoured the half dozen books I have and still have no idea how it works in regards to the various settings..

Can someone point me to a tutorial or devise one on the use of the patch tool ? When do you use the various selections, and the transparency box ? I think I have the source and destination part of it figured out. I can't be alone in not knowing how to effectively use it.

The patch tool is like a lasso tool and the healing brush combined.

Here are 2 tips, first thing get rid of the little patch icon cursor, go to pref, options, and check precise tip.
Second stay away from the corners or light or dark tones.
The patch tool works best, just as the healing brush, in smooth areas without much detail.

The various selections and transparency do just as the name implies. Transparency is for pasting textures or patterns over detail. Add or subtract just add/subtract more of a new selection to the original selection area.

Try to have fun with PS, experiment and Dont be afraid to try the tools out.
