    I took this last week in central Wyoming. I beleive it to be a Ferruginous Hawk, but I am not at all sure about it. It is not one of my best shots, but I was using my new Nikon 600mm Vr lens hand held with a D300. The rest of the shot information is below:

    I think that your ID is a bang on. An adult light morph Ferruginous Hawk.

    I think your shot has enough detail to id it ==I would agree with you on Ferruginous Hawk
