This image is another from my recent amazon trip in Peru. I wanted to get some images of frogs, but unfortunately, there were none around. On our last nightly walk, I saw the eyes of this guy reflected from my headlamp. I slowly creeped in toward him, and took shots as I approached. He let me get right up a few inches from him. This image is two images stitched together in order to keep focus on the eyes and the mosquito on his nose! Before I left, I reached up and mashed the mosquito - the frog never blinked or moved.

Canon 1d MK II n, Canon 100 f/2.8 macro, ISO 640 f/2.8 @ 1/40 sec, manual exposure with Canon ring flash.

A very nice close up and I like the idea of stitching two images together. The flash looks good too.

Hey Jim, I like in your face shots like this. Very nice details, and the mosquito adds a real nice touch. I like the crop and DOF, but my eye keeps wondering down to the white below the head. Maybe a slight darkening of that area would help.
