Note: Image was composed under direct sunlight at 12 noon; not the best conditions, but could not pass up the opportunity. Compensated for the under wing exposure on the negative side, due to the natural reflector provided by the sand.
This fellow was flying low across the shoreline, headed out towards the sea at Little Estero. He was painted with a Nikon D200, using a Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5 - f/5.6G IF-ED VR

high noon!!? it's tough to get underwing details without blowing out the top of the bird in those conditions! love the wing position and placement of bird in the frame. you just need a BIG diffuser!!!:D:D:D
