Hi all, one more Yellow Billed Cardinal taken at Corrientes Province, hope you like it, I have removed a twig that was coming out from behind the bird's head. Enjoy!!

Ramon, fantastic bird, and great job on the light and sharpness. I'm not sure about the composition. Have you tried any different crops?

    Cheers,

Greg, I have, but horizontal crop didn't look good to me, and this is preeety much the original composition, almost a full frame and I like, maybe I got used to it ;)

Stunning in every respect Ramon. I love the pose and composition but the detail and exposure in this image is just excellent. Great BG too. Congratulations on a wonderful image.

Ramon, I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that I didn't like it as is -- was just wondering if you had explored other options. It's certainly a fine image as a vertical.

    Cheers,
    Greg

Really like your subject and the fanned out tail as well as how the colors all come together. The dried up foliage adds to the composition. I do notice ( I think ) some sort of halo curving along the contours of his head.

I also see the darkish "halo" at top of the head that Mike mentions - perhaps a remnant of your twig removal. I wish the OOF foliage was not there at bottom. Otherwise a stunning image, the fanned tail is pretty cool :-)

Mike, Danial, yes, that halo is product of the twing removal, I will try to get rid of it and repost a corrected version, thanks for you insights and critiques!

    Here's the repost guys.

The repost is really a stunner. Gorgeous subject, crisp detail, beautiful light and bg, and wonderful perch. Really beautiful all around.

I would change very little. The exposure values are spot on. The composition conforms to the "Rule of thirds" except in your case the subject is not at the nodes; but that is ok. It parsects the image with main subject in upper third and seed pods in lower third. The birds body angle and eye direction leads the eye out of frame where it's interest lies. Good image.
