    Brown bear with coho salmon

Shot this late last summer from "the road", that is, the ONLY road we have here. Cropped about 20%

...reposted an image with selective sharpening as suggested (thanks). the paw is very sharp in the original file but salmon face and bear head slightly behind focal plane. Selectively sharpened that area using a quick mask (thanks for that, too, Robert!

What a perfect name for the post! He really loves his fishy!

I love the water pouring off his arms, and the look in the fish's eye is great. Can't see the bear's eye, but that seems to fit the point of the pose....

    Thanks for sharing this.

Really like the details in the claws and the framing. That looks like one huge Salmon!

The image has a very slight soft look, I think selective USM, an S curve or contrast USM would make the image just about perfect for me.

What a picture. The bear loves the salmon that does not really understans what is going on and is looking with strange eyes on the bear....

Agree with Robert about the USM

    Milo,

Bear and salmon work great here so that is why I suggest cropping down to top some and cloning out the remaining branches on the upper right as they attract the eye. Great work capturing the action.
