Maybe a unconventional pose - not sure if it works - was really trying to show the feathers on the back.

It works for me. I like the color palette and the fluffy feathers.
The pose is good, and the feathers you wanted to showcase look good. I'm not too keen on how the front of the bird blends in with the BG though.
i love the detail in the feathers, my only critique would be the white speck in the center of the back, my eye went straight to it..
Beautiful Lance. Such great exposure. I love the way you have showcased the feathers.
Nice job Lance! The exposure looks perfect, as does sharpness. Love the pose too. It's a little tight on the left, and I agree with Daniel's comment on the breast feathers. It'd be easy enough to burn the feathers up front. Thanks for posting!

Wow, I love it just in the way that you posted. The feathers´texture is fantastic and the exposure job simply stunning.
This is great, well done
Awesome image. Love the pose and the excellent exposure. I too love it as posted. Congratulations on a wonderful capture Lance.
Gorgeous subject, and the pose is great! Beautiful plumage detail. I like it just as it is.
It does work for me, love the pose and the details, exposure is great, I might just try to tone down the BG a bit, Big congratulaions!
I love that over-the-shoulder pose. I also think the high-key BG adds to this. Nice work!
you know these are my favorite guys that you post!!! awesome capture!! nothing else to say!!!!
