    At a recent trip to the Nashville Zoo, I shot this of the crane. Not cropped, just a close take
    Nikon D40x, F9, 1/80 250mm lens Aperture mode. Minor photoshop work.

    I like the placement of the subject. I think you need just a little more room at the bottom. I would like to see the eye stand out a bit more. It's a beautiful bird

    Hi Hazel I like the composition and what you were trying to do here Do have a suggestions if you get another chance.

    Try waiting for the bird to lift his head so yo can make the image at eye level, do keep an eye for a good bg. Get real tight on the head which is the most compelling part of the bird.

    As presented would like to see the bird with the head more toward you and having detail on the dark feathers. Exposure is on the ragged edge, the neck is almost blown. Looking forward to many more !!!!!
