    D300 200-400@400 on tripod; manual exposure mode, ISO 1600 f4 1/5000 sec, no flash. Cropped for composition.

    Why ISO 1600 and 1/5000 sec you ask? Because I was between action shots. This one was not part of the plan :)

    I like this one Desmond. It is very hard to do these little guys justice. I love the inclusion of the branch he is standing on and the richness of the colors you achieved. His eye stands out nicely, another difficult thing to accomplish with these guys.

    Hi Desmond - exposure looks good - sharp and like how the entire bird is in view. Not sure about the HA - personally it works for me.

    Here's one who wishes for a better head angle. Black-capped Chickadees are one of the most curious birds around and are easy to get their attention with easy methods such as pishing. Good composition - I like the sloping perch, but I might tone down the bright bark on it.

    Nice shot would wish for a head turn and i find the tree branch over powering
