    Red-bellied Woodpecker - S.W Florida

    This one from a while back. What I like about this image the most is the detail in the tail and the head turn. I haven't seen an image of a Red-bellied Woodpecker showing the patterns and details in the tail.

    Comments?

    Canon 30D, 400mm L @ f/8, ISO 200, 1/320 sec, RAW, Tripod, Full frame.

    Cool!! The only thing I'd try to fix is the bright diagonal streak coming out of the subject's shoulder. I really love how the two feet are grasping the perch!

    Agree about the one section of BG; I might isolate it and use very moderate gausian blur to soften. But the image is a definite keeper. Resolution is first rate. Well done.

    Great "doing the splits" pose. Lovely detail in the plumage..especially the tail....and the head turn makes it all work. Lovely!

    Terrific pose, light, head turn, eye contact, sharpness, colors... I only wish for more room at the bottom and maybe a litlle CW rotation but the image is excelent. congratulations!
