I have written this and removed it 3 times. The image is not a mainstream, tack sharp, highly detailed image. At best it is an ok representation of chaos :) But sometimes I like stuff like this :)

As I was driving to a job site this morning I spotted 4 large swarms of mosquito's, each about 2' to 3' in diameter, above the ditch at the side of the road. At least I think that's what they were. Some of them broke loose from there "activities" and had a snack... aka me. My 180 macro and ring light were with me (along with the other stuff I carry) so I took a stab at getting a shot of the swarm. I forgot that I had set my ISO to 3200 the night before (there was raccoon in a tree near my driveway when I got home and I was trying to get a shot of it... but didn't ) so this is a tad soft due to noise reduction.

Robert- I don't think I have the patience to use your very cool background noise reduction technique on this one. :D

Interesting Michael, its almost abstract at first like noise until you focus on one of the critters. I like the idea and the job you did.

Good question posed by Kaushik, 1/8000! When HHS kicks after 1/250th the output drops to 1/8 full power. At 1/8000 I think it is even less!

Whew... Thanks guys. I was wondering if anyone would like this image. I knew that I did.:D

Kaushik- I doubt if the flash added anything of real value to the image. I turned it on because it was there :)

Nice one! Love the abstract quality of it.
