    Sabines Gull
    Southern , California

I took this a few weeks ago at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands as it became an interesting morning as this Sabines Gull made land fall
to the wetlands which for this bird to come a shore is quite rare unless mating. And thats in the northern most part of Alaska.
Anyways I thought I would share this one for people that like Gulls....

    Nikon D300 AFS600 F4 1.4 TC

    Thanks For Looking

Veru nice flight image, Jim, unusual angle, since you are higher than the subject. Killer exposure.

Yes, yes, yes. I know I'm supposed to specify why I approve your image as much as I do. You seem to have done all the little things that make a fine image. What more is there to say except, thanks to you I love gull even more than I thought I did.

Neat, Jim! Never seen this sp. Good wing position too.

Great flight shot, Jim. I like the wing position, light and detail here. Congrats on getting this rarity.

Sharp with an excellent EXP. Do the juvies have the fantastic W pattern on the upper wings? (I am field-guide-less on my way to Monhegan and the Portland Seminar.)

Very nice and thank you sir. A full side profile with the wings in the full downstroke would have been the winner (but with the bird angled the same in both images it seems that the wind was not quite right for that type of image).

I saw one of these the day after Thanksgiving in Great Kills Harbor, Staten Island, NY about 28 years ago... Did you have lots of chances on this one or were these two images made on a single fly-by?

I only had one fly by from the foot bridge and got off 5 frames and that was it. I never saw it again. But the funny thing was I also
got a record shot of a Parasitic Jaeger that same morning.... Alot of sardines are running close to shore an unusual number by all means....:)
