    Default Sanderling, winter plumage

On my first visit to Florida - I could not believe how tame these little fellows were. My greatest difficulty was getting a clear BG, without people's feet in the shot, on a crowded beach on Sanibel Island. As I particularly like shorebirds, this sold me on Florida.

I'd say you did real well on the exposure here. White sands and white bird without blowing either. Looks as if you can almost reach out and touch it. I like the clods of sand here, gives it a realistic effect.

Lovely exposure, eye contact and composition. I would love to see this image at a lower angle but other than that excellent work!

Sorry Maxis, a lower angle in this case would have meant out of focus bits of people in the BG! Having posed beautifully like this, this bird then turned, ran towards me and actually passed under my tripod - just as if I was invisible. For a visiting Brit this was an incredible experience.
I agree, I would normally like to shoot from a lower angle.

Thanks for your interest and comments,
    Melvin

Excellent techs here. Nice low angle and detail too. I like the small mound of sand in front of the bird.
