    Default Northern Hawk Owl



    Stoney Creek Mountain, Ontario, Canada

    Nikon D300 ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
    1/50s f/7.1 at 400.0mm iso320 tripod, no flash, basic PS and sharpening

    maybe a little over sharpened?

    My first go at this forum, looks like a lot of familiar faces in here! Cool.

    It looks fine to me: nice over the shoulder head turn, perfect exposure, sharp, and just enough DOF to get the tail. The white stuff in the LRHC draws the eye of the viewer. There are several ways to eliminate it if that fits with your processing ethics.

    Welcome, Ray! Good to see you here. Perch, pose and sharpness look good on my monitor. I find the BG a bit busy but would be happy to have this image in my collection. :)

    Agree on the white spot being distracting. Other than that, a beautiful image :)
