Sun, blue sky and beautiful water, what more could a duck want? C&C greatly appreciated and thank you for looking.

I like this very much Katie. Nice details in the back feathers and especially on the bill. I love the pose and the ripples in the water really add to the image for me. The birds head and breast appear a little bright to me and the eye looks a bit glazed over- I might try to fix that. I also might try to a bit of a lower angle. I'm generally lying flat on my stomech when I photograph ducks. Having said that, I don't mind the angle so much here. Anyway, I really like this one. Based on your recent subjectsa of gulls and common ducks it looks as though your phot ops have been as limited a mine :)

Excellent pose this guy did for you. Image is well exposed and composed. Love the water effects.
    Congrats,

    Hi Katie

I like this one very much The central placement works well with this subject and the water circles. Would try including the bottom circle entirely.

The pose is just perfect. Going at it lower might be good but could loose the circles which are appealing.

Like it Katie, might shoot a little lower, but it was probably not possible.

Dave, thank you for your thoughtful comments and yes, the photo ops have been challenging here so I decided to work with what's nearest at hand for awhile, looking for different poses, lighting, etc. I agree about the lower angle and that's actually something I've been working on, too, although in this case, it just wasn't possible. In any case, thanks and happy shooting!
