This young fellow was gliding back and forth along the shore; in the company of his pelican friends, one early morning at Estero Beach. He was painted with a Nikon D200, using a Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5 - f/5.6G IF-ED VR

    Image solution:focal length @ 300mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / ISO @ 320 / 1/750sec. - f/16 / white balance @ auto / AF - mode @ dynamic range, auto - continuous / color space @ sRGB /lighting solution - no speedlight, ambient light / exposure comp @ +0.7EV / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +2 degrees / saturation factor @ +2 degrees / support platform - no tripod, hand held /

Wonderful colors, Gus, especially like the pearl like sheen. Composition is great, good HA, nice capture. On my monitor there is some BG noise.

Nice flight shot Gus with lots of details. There is definitely noise in the BG, and some of the whites look hot, I think you also have some homework to do!!!!!!!

I like the pose Gus The little tilt makes all the difference. This is very appealing but flatter would have been like photographing a pancake sideways !!!

Agree with Oscar on the bg For these I select the bg and use gaussian blur, just perfect. Exposure wise looks fine, need to have the leading edges right at the ragged edge in order to have detail around the eye. I like it a lot !!!

Nice job Gus. I'll leave the technical critique to the experts, but I do see the BG noise. I like the comp!
