I wasn't sure which forum this belongs in. It was a set-up with feeder cloned out, and 5 flashes. This is a composite of two images, the male and female of the species. Used the 70-200 with 1.4 TC.
F/14 @ 1/200.
This is me at the set-up. You can see the placement of the strobes. A wireless transmitter syncs all the flashes. Exposure is obtained with use of a hand-held incident light meter. An Incident meter reads the light falling on the subject rather than a camera meter which reads the light reflected off the subject. Most of the modern hand-held meters do both.
Wow Susan......what an excellent hummer image.....especially with 2 in such a wonderful pose. I really appreciate the image of the setup......can't imagine working with that many flashes....I have enough trouble with one. Well done.
Hi, Susan. I think the composite image is great, and I guess being a composite, it belongs here. I don't remember seeing this image from the hummingbird trip last year but I'm glad to see it here. The lighting setups we used yielded beautiful results, and I love the texture on this one. So, congrats on two cool captures!
