This is a lovely image Kirsten. The details have been nicely captured and the exposure on the dot. The blurred wing tips shows the movement here. Nice one.
Terrific image and very good job on the exposure. Perfect wings pose, eye contact and light angle. The BG is really good and the composition perfect. Fantastic sharpness, by the way, and I like a lot the sand traces on the bill. I see some kind of bluish cast in the right underwings feather but maybe is my uncalibrated monitor at the office. I think that you can extrat more details from the blacks in the face of the bird and tone down a bit the BG to made the poping-up of the bird more intense. Big, big congratulations for a fine image Kirsten
Wonderful image as noted by many above. For color and contrast I would prefer something between the ORIG and Juan's repost. If you twisted my arm I might suggest that had the wings been raised a tad more that the back of the head would not have merged with the far wing. But as is this is a fabulous image. Way to go!
