    Default Osprey with trout

I recently bought a Canon 500mm lens and went out and tested it. This is one from the day. I used the 500mm and the 1.4x handheld

Pretty good for your first day with the 500! Like the fish and the illumination of the eye. I'd like to see more even light, and I wish the bird were coming towards you instead of moving away from you. Enjoy your new purchase! Looking forward to more of your photos with the 500.

Really nice image. Love the sharpness you got on the bird's eye and the fish. Also like the splash of water. Certainly gives this that little extra. If you can hold the exposure constant on the head and raise the exposure on the rest a bit it would be even stronger. Congrats on a really nice image.

A tough shot to get perfect but I would be totally happy with this one. Especially considering the position of the fish. The clear view of the head and eye of the Osprey save this shot .I love action captured especially the water falling off the bird and fish. Well Done!
