    Hi David, One of my favorite ducks !!!! I like the pose look and bg The dark under wing detracts from a fine image

    Did not give the exposure compensation but you need a lot of plus for these guys on overcast days Might also take some from the bottom !!!

    Nice pose and eye contact. Adding to Al's suggestions, there is a slight S/H halo that you can avoid if you use the magic wand and choose the bird only. The BG is a bit noisy, is this a heavy crop?

    As always, thanks for the suggestions!!! It is about a 70% crop with a strip off the left and bottom. It was imaged at 1600 and has no noise reduction.

    Have you tried to go to ISO 400 and f/7.1? The shutter speed should be sufficient.
