Went to Italy with my D300, took 12-24, 18-70, 70-200vr which is pretty heavy lugging around. Also, took my 24mm for museum shots which worked great in places like the Vatican.
We are looking to go back in May. I am thinking I want to downsize a little, thought of picking up the 18-200 vr and also the SB-400 flash instead of bringing the SB-800.
Was wondering what you guys use for travel???
Is the 18-200vr worth the expense? To replace the heavy 70-200? Also, is there a reason I would need the 12-24, if I get the 18-200??
Just looking for some ideas, all comments are welcome!!
Just picked up the Kata DR -467, which is going to replace my big carry on and doubles as a daypack!! Very excited about this well built bag for 80 bucks!
Hi Michael,
The 18-200mm f/3.5 - f/5.6 VR is an excellent travel all day lens. I have one; and never leave home without it...:D I would take the SB-800. If you have a fast prime lens, like the 50mm f/1.4 - or f/1.8, take it for low light situations were flash is not permitted...
