This image was made at the Barotha lake, near the famous Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary in Bharatpur, India with a Canon 1D III and a EF 500mm f4 lens with 2x TC at f9 and 1/500s at ISO 250.
Image was slightly tweaked by reducing highlight tones in Lightroom.

Interesting bird and setting !!! Well framed I like how you managed a pleasing bg with all those flowers/leaves Nice pose and behavior Would have liked if the bird had his head turned a bit more to the plane but he is digging in there for food A little fill flash would have been beneficial Good image !!!!

Very nice behavior shot. I agree with Al's suggestions and would also tone down the highlights a bit.

Nice shot Gautam. I would have liked a better head angle, but it is easier said than achieved. The flower in the background at the left is distracting. However, cropping would look bad. It has to be left out during the composition stage. Again, easier said than done, as the subject doesn't stay in for more than couple of seconds at a place.
