Love this image, Maxis, wow! Great light, color, background, detail. Would wish for head turn and better eye contact, but the bird sometimes rules. ;o)

Great wing position, and the light is awesome. Also wish for more eye contact, but I'll be happy if this were mine.

That is really quite the image, Maxis! I was wondering if you had to blur the BG any? I know the head angle isn't perfect but the look on his face is priceless!

    Hi Julie,

I didn't touch the BG at all. 90% of the time when I'm in the field, I have my cameras set at f/5.6 using the 500mm. In this case the BG is about 10 yards behind the bird and that did it!!

Thank you for your comments and words!!

Absolutely smashing, Maxis. Great detail in the wings and both eyes are visible too. The light is amazing.

I hope that I'm allowed to comment on images posted by such talented photographers as yourself and do agree that the image detail and BR are awesome, the lighting spectacular, and wings in a wonderful position, but also agree with Judy whose friendship I cherish dearly, that this imag was in my files...........wonderful capture.

BG is one of he things I like the most of this shot, as it doesn't bother and also says something about the bird's enviroment, also pose and light are superb my friend! Big congratulaitons!!
