    Big Warm Welcome Dave !!!!

Very fine flycatcher and first I've seen from the big Canon !!!!! I like the pose and behavior, excellent detail and well exposed. Would like more room top, bottom and tiny less on the right. Light was from the upper right and some fill would have helped. I like it a lot and hoping to see many more !!!!

Thanks for your comments. I have changed the cropping and also removed a dust spot - let me know what you think.

I moved to the Canon 800mm from the Sigma 300-800 and this was its first major trip. I am very happy with the lens now although the 1ds mkIII died with ERR99 on the last day. Most expensive camera I have ever purchased and the only one to fail under warranty.

This photo was taken on Gitzo 1548 tripod with Wimberley mkII head. I was often using a monopod but this location had more room and less walking involved so I went for ease of use.

I much prefer the composition in the repost, you could still ad a bit more at bottom though as the tail ends rather close to the edge. I see another dust spot to correct ;-) Man, I would love to be able to try one of thoses lenses let alone own one!!

Great pose, BG and eye contact. I would give it more room and remove the dust spot in the lower right.

OK, I have extended the bottom to give as much as is available in the original. The end of the tail is now visible.

Thanks for the help, this forum has already been far more help than any other I have posted in.
