    The picture was taken in my house garden. The bird is very fidgety and stays in the shady areas of the plants looking for moths and other insects. Its hence a challenge to photograph. Thanks in advance for your time and comments.

    I like the composition and intensity of the pose with sharp focus and detail of head and beak. I find the background behind the beak distracting but see you were at your widest aperture. Raising you position slightly would have been the only solution I can see but obviously can be difficult with a fidgety bird at close quarters.

    Thanks for sharing an image of this bird. I don't think I've seen this species before. The focus on the eye is good and the pose nice as well. I wish for a wider DOF and a less busy BG. Keep them coming.

    Thanks Tony and Axel for your thoughtful comments. Yes I also feel the background is a bit distracting now that you have said it however I thought the feel of the canopy would be lost if the background was in complete bokeh. Will try for a better picture next time
