    This female g-w teal was nonstop bottom feeding in about two inches of water, until she finally lifted her bill out of the water for this pose. Depending on the light angle, the speculum color can appear green, teal (as in this photo), or blue. Weskeag Marsh, South Thomaston, Maine, 9-20-08.

    1DM3, 500 mm, 1.4x TC, ISO 640, f/8, 1/1250 sec.

    Great low angle, and the bubbling action is very neat!! I thought it needed a contrast boost so here is a repost with that done to it (the added contrast has also added a nicer warmth to the image...)

    I too prefer the contrast. Love the bubble action and the hint of color in the wing. Lovely low angle and a nice reflection.

    Very nice capture Keith and Daniel's repost really brings out the color and detail. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
